You really don't need to invest in a lot of expensive tools to make something cool! Check out the rest of the channel for some budget friendly carving ideas, as I don't use many bits/burrs or expensive woods for the most part. I even use cheap burrs ($10 ones off of amazon). All you need is a Dremel and some patience to learn. Good luck!
In this video, I show the most common Dremel and rotary tool bits you will come across. This will serve as a guide for what the different Dremel bits are used for. I will also include some of the more uncommon bits I have used that you will not find in the standard accessory or bit kit. All these bits can be used with most of the Dremel models, but some rotary tool models will not be powerful enough to use the bits to their full potential. But if you have the more powerful Dremel models like the Dremel 4000, 3000, 8220, 8260, 8250, 4300 you should be able to use all of these bits to their full potential. Models with less power, for example, the Dremel LITE or Stylo+ 2050 will have some trouble with using bits that requires some torque to do their job. For example when cutting metal. In general, the Dremel 3000 is cheaper, but the Dremel 4000 has more power. But both tools have some pros and cons to them, and all the small detailed differences are highlighted in the video. For example, the design, changing the brushes, the power, attachment compatibility, how easy they are to take apart, the shaft lock button, and more. One thing i forgot to mention in the video is that the Dremel 3000 is a little bit smaller than the Dremel 4000. This video will show you the cutting power and performance of the routing bits for the Dremel. We will use these routing bits to do a cut in a softer wood like pine and a harder wood like pine. The routing bits can be used with most Dremel rotary tools, but they will perform better with the more powerful models like the Dremel 3000, Dremel 4000, Dremel 4300, Dremel 8220, or Dremel 8260. You will also need some sort of cutting guide to keep the bits at 90 degrees to the wood and make a clean cut. In this video I'm using the Dremel cutting guide 565, using the Dremel plunge router 335 is even better. I have to mention that I'm pretty new to using a router and routing bits. So you can probably make a cleaner cut than me. Expect some user errors, this video is just to show you what you can expect of the bits.
