Through this scheme, financial assistance has been provided by the government for inter-caste marriages. Also called Dr. Ambedkar Scheme for Social Integration through Inter-caste Marriage. Through the Bihar Inter-caste Marriage Protsahan Yojana, financial assistance is provided to the married couple who have done an inter-caste marriage. However, to get financial assistance under this scheme, the beneficiaries will have to submit a pre-stipend receipt of ₹ 10 non-judicial stamp paper, after which they will be sent one and a half lakh rupees to the bank account through RTGS or NEFT, the remaining amount of one lakh. Shrii P.R. Sarkar founded Society Building department in Ananda Marga in 1960 with following objectives. To encourage inter-caste, inter-religious and international marriages To encourage the society to adopt the revolutionary marriage system of Ananda Marga Simultaneously inspire young talented youth to choose the life of a whole timer to propagate spiritual ideals in the society Revolutionary Marriage: In order to form an ideal society based on strong fundamentals, Ananda Marga encourages inter caste, international, widow marriages and marriages of abandoned and shelter less women. The idea of dowry is rejected outright in Ananda Marga marriages. Owing to their revolutionary nature these marriages are called Revolutionary Marriages (RM). By eliminating the artificial divisions of the society based on caste, creed, colour, nationality etc Ananda Marga marriages help to form a healthy and universal society. A few special features of Revolutionary marriage: Oneness & indivisibility of human society: Today, human beings have achieved a remarkable progress in the field of intellectuality, the unity however is lacking among the members of society. The artificial divisions in society on the basis of caste, creed, colour, nationality etc persists even today. In RM of Ananda Marga there is no such consideration. Shrii Sarkar inspired His disciples to recognize all human beings as members of a great human family. NO DOWRY: In the social Code of Ananda Marga Shrii Sarkar has prescribed a simple system of marriage ceremony. ìFor marriage, neither party can demand a dowry. Further He instructed his followers:îif dowry is demanded on behalf of either bride or bridegroom at wedding, you may help out manually as required in the marriage but you should strictly avoid partaking of food there. Consent of Bride & Bridegroom for marriage is mandatory: In the Ananda Marga marriage, the guardians arrange marriage & finalise after ascertaining the consent of the bride and bridegroom, and bless them, at least a day before the marriage is solemnized. If the boy and the girl settle their marriage themselves, it is proper for the guardians to give their consent. In case the guardians feel that the consequences of such a marriage will be harmful, they may ask the boy and the girl to reconsider their decision. Even then, if they do not change their opinion, the guardians should give their consent. Condemnation of Kanyaídaína (Gifting away of Daughter): In Hindu system this system continues to prevail. It is considered as most virtuous by parents/guardians. In the consideration of Ananda Marga this practice smacks of selling out our sons and daughters like provisions. Society must give a deep consideration to this aspect and do away with this system which is derogatory to the women in our society. Doing away with the system of priest: In Ananda Marga marriage system two Acharyas (those who teach Yoga & meditation to all free of cost & serve the suffering humanity) function as priest on behalf of bride & bridegroom. In their absence any senior follower of Ananda Marga can conduct the ceremony. Equal status of Bride & Bridegroom: In Ananda Marga marriage system the bride & bridegroom sit facing each other. Parada Pratha(covering face with veil) is not encouraged. They take oath in their mother tounge for accepting each other as husband & wife. Responsibility of all the participants: All those who participate in Ananda Marga marriage they take oath that they have witnessed the marriage & they will help each other in their all round development. The revolutionary marriage makes the society responsible towards the newly wedded couple. Simple & Economical: The marriage system being simple does not call for and ostentatious display. However, one is free to decorate, arrange instrumental/vocal music according to oneís economic condition. Feast is optional. Arranging feast by taking loan or incurring a debt is prohibited. Religion in India How do Indians feel about living in such a religiously diverse society? What are the dynamics among India’s various religious groups in both public and private life? And in a democracy with a large #Hindu majority, how do Indians view the relationship between Hindu identity and Indian identity? Dr. Neha Sahgal, associate director of research at Pew Research Center, will talk about findings from a major new Pew Research Center survey of religion across #India, based on nearly 30,000 face-to-face interviews conducted in 17 languages between late 2019 and early 2020 (before the COVID-19 pandemic), exploring the role of religion in Indian public life. The study is part of a larger effort by Pew Research Center to understand religious change and its impact on societies around the world. The nationally representative study, Pew Research Center’s biggest single-country survey outside of the United States to date, provides insights into the experiences and attitudes not only of Hindus and #Muslims but also of Buddhists, Christians, Sikhs, and Jains living in India. NEHA SAHGAL Dr. Neha Sahgal is associate director of research at Pew Research Center, specializing in international polling on religion. Sahgal is involved in all aspects of survey research, including designing the questionnaire, monitoring fieldwork, evaluating data quality, and analyzing results. She is an author of studies on the religious beliefs and practices of Muslims around the world, Christian-Muslim relations in sub-Saharan Africa, religion in Latin America, religious divisions in Israel, religion and national identity in Central and Eastern Europe, and the role of religion in Western Europe. Pew Research Center is a nonpartisan fact tank that informs the public about the issues, attitudes and trends shaping the world.
